Layout supporting a South London Refugee Association's (SLRA) briefing and recommendations on access to support specialised immigration advice for families who were frozen out of the benefits system. The report documented firsthand the lived experiences of women and children who were trapped in poverty because their migration status did not allow them to find employment or receive benefits.
Together with SLRA we worked to produce a set of illustrations of the women from photographs they supplied, which brought the case studies to life while protecting their identities (as for various reasons some were considered vulnerable). To visually support the voices in the report further, quotations featured heavily as typographic elements in their own right. The typography was bold and colourful, accompanied by various colour shapes, illustrations, and textures, setting of visual paths for the stories at the heart of the document.
